Taicang High-tech Zone is located in the main urban area of Taicang, with a total area of 116 square kilometers. It was established in 1993, and approved as a national-level economic development zone in 2011 and a provincial-level high-tech zone in 2012, and it ranked second in the comprehensive evaluation of provincial-level high-tech zones in Jiangsu Province in 2020. In recent years, Taicang High-tech Zone has actively created the model of science and technology industrial highland neighbouring Shanghai, modern logistics base along Yangtze River, model of modern pastoral city and Sino-German cooperative city. It has extensively carried out deep open cooperation, continued to absorb high-end innovation resources, vigorously promoted high-end industry development and built a high quality development demonstration area, and actively create national-level high-tech zone. There are more than 800 foreign enterprises located in the Zone, more than a half of which are from Europe and America. Nearly 360 German enterprises have flourishingly and developed here.
